Dinner Dances.

We have played for an audience of 150 for a dinner dance. Music covered all the well-known dance rhythms such as quickstep, foxtrot, tango, waltz together with some Latin, pop and rock and roll. The tune selection was based on the client's requirements. Concert of Remembrance at Christ's Church, Wellington. In conjunction with the Wrekin and Telford Singers we played a World War One Suite prepared for the event, followed by a selection of popular songs from the 1940's.

Christmas Lights Switch-On in Shrewsbury.

We have played for this event twice during November. Firstly, in the Market Hall, and in 2016 in the Darwin Centre. Both events featured a selection of our repertoire together with some seasonal numbers.

Garden Parties

With some protection against our weather these can be great fun. The last one at which we played, the band were in a gazebo in a beautiful garden with a view of Wenlock Edge.

Blist Hill Events at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum.

In recent years we have played a full two-hour programme of pre-1945 music at the Forest Glen Café. These have been part of their 1940's events and have always been well received. With music from the likes of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Glenn Miller and Hoagy Carmichael there are plenty of good tunes from which to choose.

Village Hall Concerts.

These are always popular as they give us the chance to play any new numbers, and select from our considerable repertoire. We sometimes also introduce guest artistes or entertain with our own Ukulele Group for some audience participation.

We have seen some personnel changes, Brian Richards has retired from the band due to health, and Janette Sleigh has moved back to Yorkshire. The saxophone pads are now with Stuart Corbett and Ian Lock. Mike Marshall has also joined us as a third guitarist.
